I'm sorry to hear that the durian wasn't quite ripe enough and lacked the creamy texture you were expecting. Durian can be quite tricky when it comes to ripeness - the perfect moment when it develops that characteristic creamy, custard-like consistency can be quite brief and varies from fruit to fruit.
When durian is underripe, it tends to be firmer and less creamy, which can definitely affect the overall eating experience. The creamy texture is indeed one of the most appreciated qualities of a perfectly ripe durian. Our producers always do their very best to select the perfect durian segments. However, as durian is a natural product, the ripeness may occasionally not be absolutely perfect.
We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially given durian's unique nature and the anticipation that comes with trying this special fruit.

Die Durian ist definitiv eine sehr spezielle Frucht, die polarisiert - sie wird nicht umsonst als "Königin der Früchte" bezeichnet, aber auch für ihren intensiven Geruch bekannt. Der Geschmack kann je nach Reifegrad und persönlichen Vorlieben sehr unterschiedlich wahrgenommen werden, und wir verstehen gut, dass sie nicht jedermanns Sache ist.
Es ist völlig in Ordnung, dass die Durian nicht deinen Erwartungen entsprochen hat. Wir schätzen es sehr, dass du bereit warst, diese außergewöhnliche Frucht auszuprobieren und deine Erfahrung mit anderen zu teilen.

Durian flesh is mesmerizing and delicious. The only complaint is that there is a kind of hard, inedible white sole under the flesh that is certainly part of the rind of the fruit and counts in the bill.

I know what fresh durian tastes like in the country of origin. Unfortunately, this is not even getting anywhere. Too little taste and also too much plastic around it. I prefer the cheap frozen one from an Asian shop.
